Sometimes I think my almost-constant yelling drowns out God’s shouts in my times of pain. God’s ‘megaphoned voice’ doesn’t reach my heart because I don’t always allow my heart to listen.
i think He does yell through my pain, which is varied and much lately. but even then i can drown it out with my own yelling. it’s as though i sometimes stick my fingers in my spiritual ears, and as much as i ask for Him to speak i’m blocking Him out.

So glad to see another CS Lewis quote!
Stacey- I think that’s where the whole “be still and know…” part of scripture comes into play. Too bad I rarely utilize that skill.
Stick around, Mr. Lewis has provided plenty of good stuff for Fridays for sure!

indeed….I heard someone say once that people were always telling him (he’s a pastor), “God feels so distant.” His reply: “Who moved?” Dang.
