I love music.
LOVE, I tell you.
There is something about music that stirs the soul in a way that many can’t.
I love to write and make music, and I love to listen to it made by others much better than me.
Currently, I’ve been listening to loads of Matthew Perryman Jones. I’ve also been listening to Jeremy Casella, who I opened for a while back at a house show…great songwriter and storyteller. I’ll also be attending two concerts in April, one for Sandra McCracken & Derek Webb, and another concert with a favorite: The Robbie Seay Band. They have a new album out very soon, so you should jump over to their site and grab a copy. You can even get it on vinyl!!
So, what are you listening to?
I’d love to hear. Perhaps it’s something I’ve not heard of, and perhaps you’ll be turned on to something new as well through the comments.
Rediscovering Jimmy Page
Sweet…how about him and Alison Krauss? Do you like their sound? I’m a big fan of the Raising Sand record.
Lately I’ve been listening to Lifehouse and Flo Rida. Strange mix, I know, but for now it works. The new Lifehouse CD is pretty good, if you haven’t looked into it..
Flo Rida? Wonder if he’s from Florida…
I just heard something about the new Lifehouse album last week, funny enough. I’ll have to check it out.
You know, I’m not sure..
I can get you a copy of the album, if you would like one?
Negative…
I was just making fun of his potential lack of creativity in the name, considering it was Florida with a space between.
Classic rock’s always gonna be my favorite genre, but I’ve been listening to some old school country (George Jones, Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash).
True Story: I ruptured my ear drum at age 5 at a Hank Williams, Jr. concert….why my parents took me to that as a 5 year old, I’ll never know.
There are a few new cd’s that make I into my rotation from time to time, but generally anything made in the 90′s is hands down the best music ever…
NeedToBreathe has been on my iPod non-stop the past week!
I’ve heard this name come up a lot lately, but have never checked them out. I’ll have to do so. What style of music?
Acoustic/folksy/makes me want to drum along with my hands on my steering wheel
Thriving Ivory.
Sorry. I had to.
for all who read this….I do not recommend this band…horrible.
I love these questions.
Here are three bands that are on repeat for me right now:
NeedtoBreathe
Zach Williams
Gungor Band
Another recommendation for NeedtoBreathe…I checked them out last night while on YouTube. Good stuff.
And, Gungor is legit. And, he plays an Olson…not that it matters, but that is awesome (for those who know about Olson guitars).
Thanks for the comment, Kyle!
